The Moment I Realised ‘Healing’ Was Just Another Form of Pressure...
And what happened when I let it unfold instead
I remember the day I realised…
I had every ‘tool’ available…
But I just felt tired…
The kind that creeps in when you’ve been carrying a silent weight for a long time.
That makes you question whether ‘doing the work’ is working at all…
And the whisper came:
“Maybe healing has become just another thing you think you have to perfect”.
Yep, it was one of those internal mic drop moments…
Because I realised I’d turned something sacred - my own healing - into another task.
Another box to tick…
Another space where I needed to achieve something in order to feel…enough.
I wonder if this sounds familiar?
It made me reflect on something deeper too…
Am I playing a part in adding to this pressure on women - even unintentionally - through the work I do?...
Maybe at times I have…
But what I see so clearly now is that healing doesn’t need to be another achievement on your to-do list….
It can be a sacred return - and it gets to happen gently, in your own time.
When Healing Becomes a Hustle…
In a world where self-improvement is glorified…
Healing can quietly become a performance.
One that says:
“I have to keep growing or I’m falling behind”...
“If I’m still struggling with this, I must not be doing enough”...
“Once I’ve healed this part of me, then I’ll be worthy of ease, love, confidence, success”...
It’s sneaky, isn’t it?
Especially for high-capacity women - the therapists, coaches, leaders, business owners…
The ones who hold space for others with so much grace…
But rarely feel they’re allowed to let themselves soften.
We’ve absorbed this idea that healing is a destination.
A place you arrive at, once you’ve done enough inner work to earn it…
But there’s a deeper truth I’ve come to believe…
Healing Isn’t Something to Chase - It’s Something to Remember
The most profound shifts I’ve ever witnessed - in my own life and in the lives of my clients - didn’t come from trying harder…
They came from letting go.
From surrendering the need to be ‘fixed’...
From releasing the pressure to ‘get there as quickly as possible’...
And realising…
“I’m not broken. I’m just disconnected from my truth”...
When we stop chasing healing and start trusting it…
Something softens…
We begin to recognise that healing isn’t about doing it all - it’s carefully listening to what wants to be heard…
And that’s why subconscious work has become the sacred foundation of what I do… Because it’s not about another mindset shift or morning routine…
It’s about gently unearthing the patterns you didn’t even know were running the show.
This Is What Healing Looks Like Now
When I work with women, we don’t sprint toward a finish line.
We slow down. We listen. We gently unravel.
I remind them:
You don’t need to heal fast…
You don’t need to do more…
You don’t need to ‘fix’ every part of you that’s ever felt too much or not enough…
Because when you feel safe enough to pause…
To release the outdated stories…
To reconnect with the woman you’ve always been beneath the roles, masks, and expectations…
That’s when true healing begins.
What if You Gave Yourself That Permission?
The permission to stop pushing…
The permission to trust your timeline…
The permission to soften into the truth that…
You’re already whole.
You’ve just forgotten how to feel it.
A gentle question to sit with today:
Where have you turned healing into another way to prove your worth?
And what might shift if you let it be a remembering instead?
If this calls to you, and you’re willing to begin meeting the parts of yourself that have been buried, I’m offering a complimentary 30 minute Heart to Heart call.
Here we can talk through your own embedded beliefs and how we can rewrite the patterns that tell you your value has to be earned, instead of innately owned.
Subconscious work guides you to own your value - from a place of inner safety and self-trust by working on exactly what YOU need to begin embodying it.
